The importance of regularly exfoliating your skin:
Did you know that your skin cells turnover every 28 days? As we age this rate decreases and this is what makes our skin look dull, uneven, with fine lines and wrinkles. Gentleness is the key word here! Our melanin rich skin is prone to post inflammatory hyperpigmentation and weakened skin barrier. Therefore one should exercise extreme caution with regards to harsh exfoliators or scrubs, especially ones with granules or high acids content. The key is to be as gentle as possible with your melanin-rich skin.
